Standard scope mount designs come loose during live fire usage, during transport, and as a result of accidental dropping. Loosening of the optic mount on Picatinny / NATO rail due to the subjected shock and vibrational forces causes a loss-of-zero and loss-of-accuracy. The net result leaves the marksman with an unsecured and out-of-zero scope that compromises accuracy and survivability.
Removal and remounting of standard scope mounts from weapon platforms (for cleaning, maintenance, or mission specific configuration change-over) utilizing various optic / imaging devices, causes a loss of the scope's zero (>1.0 MOA). Consequently, soldiers are potentially returning back to combat operations w/out-of-zero weapons. Logistics constraints in theater due to range availability, location, operational commitments, etc., make it unfeasible / impractical to re-BZO (zero) the weapon as needed.
Rails vary in dimensions from manufacturer to manufacturer. In some instances, .010” - .020” oversized (or undersized). Our mounts are adjustable to these deviations in tolerances. Once adjusted, no tools are required for mount removal/remounting. No special tools required for initial mounting—adjustable w/ flathead screwdriver.
GDI ALQD™ (Auto-Locking Quick Detach) lever system prevents wear and damage to the M1913 Picatinny / NATO rails, whereas cam type QD lever mounts rely on friction, resulting in degradation of the rail’s dimensional integrity.
